A washing machine is one of the heaviest things in a house for its size, and front loaders in particular are built around a heavy concrete counterweight. FLYTTE crews collect washing machines and dryers from shops, Marketplace and Trade Me sellers, or your old place, and deliver them to the laundry at your new one. Book online and see your price straight away.
Getting a washing machine ready to move
Front-loading machines should have their transit bolts fitted before they are moved. These bolts lock the drum in place so it cannot swing around and damage the suspension. If you still have them, fit them before the crew arrives. If you are buying secondhand, ask the seller whether they have the bolts.
Turn off the taps, disconnect the inlet hoses and the drain hose, and let any water drain out into a bucket. Leave the hoses with the machine so they arrive together.
Crews move the machine but do not do plumbing. Once it is in place, reconnect the hoses, remove the transit bolts, and level the machine before the first wash.
Washers, dryers, and stacked units
Moving a washer and dryer together? Add both to the same booking. A stacked pair should be separated before the move and restacked with the correct stacking kit afterwards.
If the laundry is down stairs or through a narrow internal door, mention it when you book so the right crew size is sent. Two movers are recommended for stairs.
Washing machine delivery pricing
Most single-item jobs booked through FLYTTE land somewhere between about $80 and $150, depending on the distance between pickup and drop-off, the size of the item, stairs, and whether you need one mover or two. Your exact price is shown before you book, and it is worked out from the actual addresses you enter, so there is no guessing and no waiting for someone to call you back.

Do I need transit bolts to move a front loader?+
They are strongly recommended. They stop the drum moving during transport. If you do not have them, tell the crew and they will take extra care, but damage to the drum suspension is a known risk without them.
Will the crew plumb in my washing machine?+
No. The crew delivers and places it. You will need to connect the hoses yourself or with a plumber.
Can you pick up a washing machine from a store?+
Yes. Use the store's address as the pickup. Check the store has your order ready for collection first.
