Moving a double-door fridge in New Plymouth
Most New Plymouth fridge jobs are short runs across town, from Fitzroy and Merrilands to Westown and Vogeltown, which keeps the price down. Real single-item jobs within New Plymouth have ranged from about $70 to $230, depending on the item, the distance and the access.
Runs out to Bell Block, Waitara, Inglewood, Oakura or Stratford are priced on the actual route. If either address has front steps, a sloping path or a long carry from the street, mention it when you book.
Two movers, upright, doorways checked
In the booking form, pick the fridge from the item list and choose its weight band: under 80kg, 80 to 150kg, or over 150kg. Most household double-door fridges sit in the 80 to 150kg band, which adds $15. If you are not sure, the weight is in the manual or on the maker's website.
Measure the fridge and the doorways at the new place. Empty and defrost it the day before. The crew moves the fridge, they do not disconnect or connect water or power. Turn off and disconnect any water line for an ice maker or water dispenser before they arrive.
Areas covered include Fitzroy, Merrilands, Westown, Vogeltown, Bell Block, Oakura, Waitara and Inglewood.
