Moving a double-door fridge in Hamilton
Common Hamilton fridge jobs are store pickups from The Base and Te Rapa, and Marketplace or Trade Me buys from private sellers across the city. Use the store's or seller's address as the pickup.
Moving into a two-storey home in Rototuna, Flagstaff or elsewhere? Check whether the kitchen is up a flight of stairs and add the stairs when you book. Runs out to Cambridge, Te Awamutu, Huntly and Ngaruawahia are priced on the actual route.
Bought a fridge in Auckland? Auckland to Hamilton movers covers the longer trip.
Two movers, upright, doorways checked
In the booking form, pick the fridge from the item list and choose its weight band: under 80kg, 80 to 150kg, or over 150kg. Most household double-door fridges sit in the 80 to 150kg band, which adds $15. If you are not sure, the weight is in the manual or on the maker's website.
Measure the fridge and the doorways at the new place. Empty and defrost it the day before. The crew moves the fridge, they do not disconnect or connect water or power. Turn off and disconnect any water line for an ice maker or water dispenser before they arrive.
Areas covered include Rototuna, Flagstaff, Hillcrest, Te Rapa, Chartwell, Dinsdale, Frankton, Cambridge and Te Awamutu.
