FLYTTE This one was a 3-seater sofa, a chest of drawers, a 2-seater sofa and a chest freezer, going from Mount Wellington to Papatoetoe in September 2026. The customer booked it online and saw the full price before paying.
The move
The run was roughly 12km door to door. One mover handled it.
Tips if you are moving the same things
Fridges and freezers should be emptied and switched off the day before, with the door left open to dry out. Once it arrives, let it stand upright for a few hours before switching it back on.
Most sofas go through a doorway on their end, legs first. Measure the narrowest door or hallway on the way in, and if the legs unscrew, take them off before the movers arrive.
Chests of drawers are easiest to carry with the drawers taped shut, or with the drawers taken out and carried separately if they are heavy.
